Bags, Balls and Bad News

Bad news for the Rotary Guatemala team as our president Tom Andrews may miss the trip as a result of breaking a  leg  while skating in Victoria.  The group met to load their bags  with each member assigned to take an extra suitcase loaded with items for the needy in San Antonio.

The loss of one person means one less bag to transport all the generous gifts from our Rotary friends in Chemainus. The Cowichan Valley Soccer Association has donated 20 soccer balls and six sets of uniforms that will be welcomed with enthusiasm.    To help overcome our bag shortage problem “someone” came up with the brilliant idea of wearing the deflated soccer balls as hats while  on the airplane.

The pictures show the successful trial for our hats.  On the actual

airplane trip the balls will be secured with chin straps made from “Red Green” duct tape.

  1. Looking forward to hanging out together. Safe travels. Wonder if the balls can act as floatations should you need them😊

Sorry about the bad news about Tom.
Other than Tom’s accident, preparations seem seem to be going well. Love the hats!
