Some Hugs, Some Food Then Down to Work

It has been lots of fun finding our Guatemala friends, sharing  hugs and lots of smiles. This year, to avoid confusion, papers are given to each family who qualifies for a bed or the roofing lamina. Denise, Art and Daphne spent the morning with their guides hiking high into the village while Butch and Ken finished some beds started by other Rotarians before us. In the afternoon Ken and Butch were taken to homes needing repairs and the girls filled the gift bags made by Ruth Spearn.  Seeing these homes and people living in such poverty is a humbling and emotional experience . Here are some images from our first day on the job.
