Chemainus Guatemala rotary Team 2015 Left to right: Joan,Ken,Tom,Daphne, Denise,Butch,Art
Here is our Guatemala team for 2015. This year our focus will be on repairing damaged stoves and stove pipes plus all the extras we did last year. We invite you to follow our blog and encourage you to post comments as we go. We will be in Guatamala Feb 8th until Mar 1st, 2015
Google tells us we had a enough views in 2014 to fill the Sydney Opera House 4 times. It is rather fun to watch the number of clicks on our blog but more important is the more clicks the more people are aware of the desperate needs of our Guatemala friends. We encourage you to tell your friends about our blog and encourage them to “follow” the blog.
By the way, when we say follow the blog that means clicking on the Follow button at the bottom of the blog page and registering. When you do this you will get email notification whenever a new post is made and you will be able to post comments. Show your friends how to do this. ( Each browser is different. If you can’t find the “follow” button try going to a different page. You should find it in the extreme lower left. )
Last night was the last chance we will all be together before our February 22 departure. The occasion was marked with a group photo by Art with our team shirts. During the meeting we were able to talk on the phone with the Rotarians already in Guatemala. The materials are in place for us to made and install 30 or more beds. You may like to check out Graham’s blog , http://grahamandvickiguate.wordpress.com, to learn about some of the difficulties working in the villages.

Each team member will be responsible for all their own travel and accommodation but fundraising is under way to provide items for the needy in Guatemala. A garage sale was held on October 19th and generated over $800 to buy supplies in Guatemala. A big thank you goes out to everyone who donated items and made purchases.
